Stronger Together. Every Step of the Way.
Tae Kwon Do isn't just something families can do. It's something they can grow through — together.
At Master Shim's World Class Tae Kwon Do, family martial arts training creates opportunities to encourage one another, develop new skills, build confidence, and celebrate accomplishments together. Every family member brings something different to the journey, and every step forward is worth celebrating.

Families training, learning, and growing together
A Shared Journey. A Stronger Connection.
Between work, school, homework, and everyday responsibilities, finding meaningful time together isn't always easy. Family Tae Kwon Do offers something different: an opportunity to put distractions aside, focus on a shared experience, and cheer each other on.

Celebrate Each Other's Victories
Whether it's mastering a new technique, remembering a challenging sequence, or earning the next belt, every accomplishment becomes a moment worth sharing.
Encourage Each Other Through Challenges
Children discover that adults are learning too. Parents get to experience the determination and courage their children show when something doesn't come easily.
Build Memories Beyond the Mat
The lessons don't end when class does. Families take home shared goals, new conversations, a sense of accomplishment, and experiences they'll remember long after training.
Because sometimes the greatest strength a family builds is the strength they discover in each other.
Different Ages. Different Abilities. One Family.
One family member might be discovering Tae Kwon Do for the very first time. Another might already have a few belts and big goals. Someone else might simply be looking for a fun way to get moving.
That's what makes family training special. Everyone brings a different starting point, but everyone has the opportunity to learn, improve, and encourage one another.

For the Parents: Strength With Purpose

For Beginners: A Place to Start
No previous martial arts experience is needed. Our instructors help students learn foundational skills and build confidence as they progress.
For the Whole Family: Something to Share
Shared challenges become shared victories. Families gain opportunities to support one another, celebrate progress, and build meaningful connections through training.
Nobody has to be the best.
Everyone gets to become better.
One Class. Different Goals. A Shared Experience.
Imagine stepping onto the training floor together. Everyone is learning, everyone is moving, and everyone has something to work toward.
Family classes at Master Shim's World Class Tae Kwon Do bring family members together in a positive, structured environment where experienced instructors guide students through martial arts training while encouraging progress at every level.
Instructor leading a family martial arts class
Start With the Fundamentals
Students build a foundation through stances, movement, coordination, and fundamental Tae Kwon Do techniques. Beginners can learn the basics while more experienced students continue refining their skills.
Learn Through Movement
Classes incorporate age-appropriate exercises and martial arts techniques that help students develop balance, flexibility, strength, coordination, and body control.
Practice With Purpose
Students practice listening, following instructions, showing respect, and applying effort. Each person works toward improving their own skills while learning to support others.
Leave With Something to Celebrate
Maybe someone learns a new kick. Maybe another family member gains the confidence to try something challenging. Progress looks different for everyone, and those little victories add up.
What If We're Complete Beginners?
That's absolutely fine! Every black belt began as a beginner. Our instructors help new students become familiar with the training environment, learn foundational skills, and develop confidence one class at a time. The goal isn't perfection on day one. It's taking that first step together.
EVERY JOURNEY IS DIFFERENT
Different Journeys. Shared Victories.
In Tae Kwon Do, no two journeys look exactly alike. A parent may be working toward a first belt while a child is mastering a new technique. One family member may discover greater confidence while another develops patience, balance, or focus.
The Best Part? Everyone Has Someone Cheering Them On.
Families learn that progress isn't about being the fastest, strongest, or most experienced person in the room. It's about showing up, putting in the effort, and encouraging each other along the way.
Because when one family member grows stronger, the whole family has something to celebrate.
